The Long Wait for GTA 6 is Nearly Over
Speculation and anticipation has been building for years about the eventual release of Grand Theft Auto 6. As one of the most famous video game franchises of all time, the upcoming GTA 6 title has many fans on the edge of their seats awaiting more details. Rockstar Games has been very secretive about the project. But the wait is finally over !
After a 10-year wait, one of gaming’s most popular franchises is unveiling its next installment. Rockstar Games has announced that on December 5th at 2PM GMT, it will premiere a trailer for the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. The trailer premiere, posted on Platform X, has already drawn over 26 million views in under two hours, speaking to fans’ excitement.
While the trailer will offer the first look at GTA 6, Rockstar has not indicated a release date for the full game. Rumors have circulated for years about a new GTA title as fans faced an unexpectedly long wait after 2013’s smash hit GTA 5, the second highest selling video game ever. Rockstar confirmed GTA 6 was in development earlier this year.
The game’s planned trailer debut coincides with the 25th anniversary of the groundbreaking Grand Theft Auto franchise, first launched in 1997. Though GTA 6 will be the series’ sixth main entry, Rockstar has published numerous spinoffs over the years. The developer also recently announced a deal to bring classic GTA titles to Netflix’s nascent gaming service next week.
